SPRING FLOWER BUTTERCREAM WEDDING CAKE FEATURED IN ROCK MY WEDDING

I’m so excited to tell you that I’ve appeared in my first wedding feature! It was a dreamy photo shoot, back in May, with an incredible team of ladies. Our English Garden bridal editorial is now live over on Rock My Wedding. If you’re a bride seeking inspiration for a relaxed and romantic wedding brimming with British florals and greenery, then I’m sure you’ll love all the photos and details in this feature.

London bride in English garden wedding

This styled wedding shoot was inspired by the beauty of British-grown, seasonal flowers, combining delicate green botanicals with ultra-violet, mauve, lilac and deep purple florals. In the setting of a secret garden, our florists Sarah and Leigh created a floral installation that was a tumbling cascade of colour and texture and suspended from the glasshouse roof over an intimate tablescape. The majority of the flowers for this shoot came from Nettlewood Flowers’ cutting garden and were cut fresh that day!

The table itself was beautifully styled by Amy, The Timeless Stylist, with layers and texture and touches of luxe and nature. The place settings combined gold cutlery and gold-edged plates with botanically dyed linen in blush tones, from The Natural Dyeworks.

The paper for the bespoke stationery, from Mathilda Lundin, was made from cotton and linen and flecked with gold leaf. My delicate biscuit wedding favours combined perfectly with Mathilda’s artistic calligraphy for a touch of beauty and romance. With florals at the heart of this theme, the focal point of the table was the overflowing centrepiece, filled with flowers and foliage to complement the installation above.

One cake wasn’t enough for this shoot! The first cake was a sumptuous buttercream, six layer, single tier cake brimming with British florals as well as luxurious touches of gold leaf, macaron and metallic chocolate truffles. The second cake was made up of three tiers and was decorated with textured buttercream, brushed with rose gold to highlight the details and finished with intricate edible lace and feathery tendrils of foliage.

Maja did a fabulous job of capturing so many beautiful images that day that it’s been hard to choose just a few for this blog post. Do hop over to the RMW feature and her website to see many more of her gorgeous images.
