Oh gosh! How thrilled was I when I heard that one of the editorial shoots from the beautiful Fine Art Wedding Retreats was to be featured on Style Me Pretty. It’s a wedding blog that I adore, and always find so much inspiration there for my work. I got married a long time ago before wedding blogs played a significant role in wedding planning – but it would definitely be my go-to blog if I were to be getting married now. Always so much prettiness and so I still can’t believe that one of my cakes got featured on their website as well as their Instagram feed!
So let me tell you a little more about the story behind these beautiful images. Set in the English countryside, at the beautiful wedding venue of Boconnoc in Cornwall – a setting rich with history and character. The inspiration for the shoot came from the beautiful windows at Boconnoc and the many love stories they will have seen. They set the tone for this elegant, timeless and romantic tale, with a gentle colour palette of neutrals to complement the plasterwork in the house and subtle touches of green as nod to the lush rolling hills in the estate through the Spring flowers. As always, Amy, The Timeless Stylist, used layering and textures to convey that sense of romance and refinement as well as warming touches of gold / brass.
I just love the details in this Anna Georgina dress: Raphaella. It exudes luxury and is so beautifully crafted. There’s another photo to come of the exquisite button details down the back. I love lace details too, and especially the long sleeves. There’s something so feminine about this dress.
I adored the wedding tablescape – so simple, pretty and inviting. And the blooms by Brigitte, of Moss & Stone, set the table alight with their delicate tendrils and petals.
The buttercream cake itself was made to be super elegant and yet understated to complement all the beauty around it. I love this photo of the cake in an alcove of the dining room – capturing it in all its simplicity. The delicate silk ribbon from Kate Cullen completed it perfectly.
