Buttercream Cake for a Hampton Court House Summer Wedding

Buttercream Cake for a Hampton Court House Summer Wedding

A simple, yet oh so elegant theme for this summer wedding at Hampton Court House. A gentle woodland feel was carried through the house starting with herbs in pretty jars on the steps up to the entrance of the house, continuing with the stunning floral arrangements in the grand hall and the table centrepieces in the dining room as well as foliage arches around the doorways. The house was brimming with luscious green foliage as well as white heady, summery blooms. Heidi at Honeysuckle Rose is known for her natural, woodland style which really suits this beautiful venue.

With this woodland-inspired theme in mind, the wedding cake was designed with the key decorations being the foliage and the blue-hued berries. There was just a touch of white with the smallest of flowers and a couple of thistle heads to add texture. The decorations were selected to complement the table arrangements as well as the bridal bouquet and groom’s buttonhole.

Here are some gorgeous photographs taken by the amazing husband & wife team at John Barwood. It was a very emotional wedding and had so many personal touches, both John and Soph have really captured the romance, the emotion and the love of this wedding.

Isn’t this a wonderful capture of the bride and groom? I just love this moment while they’re cutting their cake.

And here’s one final photograph of the majestic Hampton Court House itself looking rather grand at dusk on this special wedding day.

Following on from the wedding, I received a lovely message from the groom: “just to say thank you so much for the wedding cake that you did for me and K. We both LOVED it and
we had such great feedback about it from all our guests. Thanks again for being so great through this process and producing such a lovely cake for us”. Receiving kind words of praise makes my job all the more wonderful!
