I can’t believe I haven’t shared this incredible shoot with you yet! Set in an intimate glasshouse, this gorgeous shoot was full of the ‘wow’ factor. If you’re looking for inspiration, this styled shoot really demonstrates the impact of having gorgeous floral arrangements and how thoughtful design can turn something ordinary into amazing.

This colour palette in an array of pink, in shades of raspberry, coral, blush, and pink milkshake is kept modern and contemporary by pairing with a subtle pop of emerald green and gold. Ashleigh was clever with the design and drew inspiration from a Palm Springs vibe with its strong mid-century modern shapes and textures, so you’ll see the recurring arch shape in the cake design, the stationery and the dessert stand, as well as the mid-century style font. And this element provides balance to the feminine and romantic flowers. Ashleigh carefully selected the dresses too with the bridal gown having a relaxed feel yet with all its gorgeous detailing and glimmer, it’s still a statement dress. And the bridesmaids’ dresses were fun and colourful in a mix of shades.

The shoot was put together for Rebecca and Nataly who were hosting a photographer’s workshop and they wanted to provide powerful yet beautiful content with plenty of scenes to shoot to ensure variety for the photographers’ portfolios. The images from this shoot went viral, and that tablescape is sensational – I see it popping up all over the internet.

I loved creating something a little different for the cake design by drawing inspiration from the iconic architecture of Palm Springs, California with its buildings in terracotta pink shades and distinctive shapes. The 3 tier cake was all in shades of pink from light pink at the top to darker pink at the bottom. The bottom tier had a textured stencil pattern and the cake was decorated with arch shapes in colours from the colour palette including that emerald green. The cake was made to be in contrast with all the stunning floral arrangements, with its sleek edges and pared-back style. And completed the dessert station which was an amazing display of wedding favour cookies and cacti.

I’ve shared some of my favourite images by Rebecca Carpenter here, but you can always pop over to the Rock My Wedding feature to see lots more.
