Spring Love Wedding Editorial in the English Countryside

I’ve been so lucky to have been involved in some amazing styled shoots this year. Earlier in the year I headed to Boconnoc in Cornwall to join a fantastic team at the Fine Art Retreat. We created two styled shoots and the first one was a gentle elopement look capturing old world details in the beautiful English countryside. The aesthetic and feel was inspired by a romantic poem by Ariel Miles called Spring Love. This excerpt in itself paints the prettiest picture:

“I still remember the sweetest things you’ve ever said to me because it’s so relaxing & beautiful. That only your words can compare, like I can really sit & reminisce as if you were standing right there. Every beautiful flower, only compliments your looks and their sweet scent, like the thought of you…”

The colour palette was a base of neutrals with touches of petrol blue to echo the Boconnoc blue in the buildings as well dusky pink to bring balance. There were lots of soft textures and layering with chiffon, linen and silk. And the beautiful, delicate Spring flowers in blush, especially those stunning butterfly ranunculus, were the perfect choice for this gentle, romantic style. The flowers were such a joy to decorate the cake with. Brigitte, our lovely florist, styles her flowers in a loose and wild way. So in keeping with this natural style, I arranged the flowers on the cakes to be loose and relaxed too.
