I know peak wedding season is yet to be over, but I’ve been looking back on the season and taking in all the loveliness so far. This beautiful wedding took place in Surrey, starting with a wedding ceremony at St Raphael’s Church in Kingston upon Thames and then heading over the bridge to the stunning Hampton Court House.
What a lovely couple they were to work with too – the relationship that gets built up in the time leading up to the wedding is so special. The more I connect with the couple, then the more personal the making of their wedding cake becomes. I definitely think the love gets poured into the baking and decorating process!
Their wedding had a modern yet elegant feel with touches of rose gold and geometrical shapes. I loved the combination of blush coloured flowers with succulents for a contemporary twist. I always love working with Steph from Fairy Nuff Flowers – she always has the most beautiful blooms and David Austin’s Juliet roses are one of my favourites for their colour and their scent!
I love this capture of the couple cutting their cake too – it’s a moment I rarely get to see in person but always means so much when I get to see the cake, that I’ve made, be an integral part of a couple’s most treasured day.
It certainly looks like it was a joyous wedding filled with heart and soul, and all captured so beautifully by Joanna Nicole who’s also the loveliest day! Here are a few more of her gorgeous captures from the day.
