Smooth Buttercream Wedding Cake for a Christmas Wedding at Nonsuch Mansion, Surrey

Winter weddings can be so very beautiful. By embracing the flowers and foliage that’s associated with the season you can create an atmospheric feeling to the venue. With your wedding cake, you can have rich flavours that can feel so inviting on a winter’s day. Fill your wedding venue with lots of candles, and it will feel altogether magical.

This three-tier semi-naked cake was created for a December wedding at Nonsuch Mansion – the bride & groom had selected decadent chocolate, gluten-free red velvet and the classic Victoria sponge for their flavours. The cake was decorated with flowers to match the bride’s bouquet – just a few on each tier for an elegant looking cake to complement the rest of the wedding theme.

Every room at Nonsuch Mansion looked stunning that day. The impressive Christmas tree in the entrance hall tied into the winter’s wedding theme perfectly. The wintry blooms were provided by Gill Pike Florist, a gorgeous combination of luscious creamy white roses, silvery eucalyptus and rich red berries.
